Facilities Assistant Manager - Corporate Real Estate
DHL is hiring a highly organized, self-motivated, customer focused professional with a background in Facilities Management to join our Facilities Management team.You will be responsible for the day-to-day facility maintenance operations of DHL's North Americas headquarters located in Westerville, Ohio.
In your day-to-day role, you will:
Love Your Job!Implements, coordinates, and supports, with a flexible and proactive approach, facility operations management to ensure that the asset value of the facility is maintained and protected.
Provide supervision of contracted vendor maintenance to implement, coordinate and support our new 145,000 square foot 4 story office building housing the DHL North Americas headquarters.When necessary to hire outside contractors, the coordination and verification of services is essential, as well as contract management for new and existing service providers.
Work on computer programs such as preventative maintenance programs, building automation systems, word processing systems, etc.
Ensure facility stays in compliance with all OSHA and EPA requirements and that all safety guidelines at the site are adhered to in accordance with our safety program requirements
Demonstrate an ability to work in teams and be self-motivated and work as a hands on member of the Facilities team.
Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of budgets, as they relate to the property, to ensure that budgets are in line with approved baselines.
Excellent working knowledge of building HVAC and control systems and work with licensed service technicians to do more in depth repairs and preventative maintenance service.Oversee the maintenance of office building mechanical, HVAC, and electrical systems and review of all tenant construction
Proactively identify potential facility issues and make recommendations to resolve
Plan, schedule and oversee outside contractors to ensure quality control, professionalism, minimal operational interference, and their recommended scope of work is the right solution and is cost effective.
Build solid partnership with local fire departments. Coordinate and facilitate fire inspections with local fire authority. Maintain high ethical standards and an appropriate level of confidentiality
Relationship management -- both internally within DHL and externally between DHL business partners
Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program for all systems and mechanical equipment with the help of the Facility Manager
Your background will include:
Bachelor's degree in a related field or equivalent experience required
5+ years’ experience in a corporate setting required
High degree of electrical and mechanical systems experience combined with a knowledge of all the construction trades is necessary
Expertise of plumbing, carpentry, painting, drywalling, electrical and HVAC maintenance and operations is required.
Building Automation Systems, Microsoft Excel and Word, Visio or related software skills
Project management: manage building projects, including capital improvements, asset replacements and construction
Knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations and preventive maintenance systems
