DHL Same Day is a 24x7x365 expedited transportation company which is part of DHL Global Forwarding.

Overall role purpose:

To drive DHL Same Day (DHLSD) business and growth agenda within assigned territory through the pro-active identification, assessment, pursuit and win of new sales opportunities while maintaining and organically growing base clients. The ideal candidate will reside within this region.

Main tasks & key responsibilities:

·Collaborate/network within other BU’s e.g. CSI, DHLE, DGF, and DHL Supply Chain.

·Be the face of DHLSD for region.

·Collaborate with internal functions that support the sales process (Product, Sales Support, Customer Service, Operations, HR, IT, Legal, Finance, etc.), gather required input and coordinate actions.

·Work in close cooperation with customer service and operations teams to ensure quality and improve performance.

·Identify, establish and manage multi-tiered relationships across customer and DHL BUs to ensure a long-term business partnership and achievement of corporate goals.

·Continuously review business potential and identify potential business opportunities.

·Ensure alignment and attainment of short and long-term growth targets within territory.

·Develop strategies to increase sales penetration and profits.

·Leverage resources to identify and develop new business opportunities.

·Manage the development of business acquisition projects ensuring targeted revenue and profitability levels.

·Develop presentations and proposals of customized solutions for various decision making audiences to close on new business.

·Lead and manage customer presentations and proposals.

·Build executive relationships with target customers.

·Acquire, manage and develop profitable business from customers within assigned territory.

·Assess customer needs and match them with DHLSD services.

·Ensure common understanding of service expectations and solutions between the customer and SD.

·Maintain accurate and timely details for all opportunities in Sales Force.

·Accurately and timely report sales activities in Sales Force aligned with strategic assigned territory growth initiatives.

·Submit in a timely manner expenses approved for reimbursement.

·Promote and support best-practice transfer.

Qualifications:

·Proven sales experience, preferably in the transportation/logistics industry

·Excellent operational process knowledge with strategic perspective

·Good all round communicator with written, oral and presentation skills at all levels

·Good at establishing working relationships and developing personal contacts

·Cross-cultural competence

·Strategic vision and insight of market evolution with strong analytical skills, planning and decision making competencies

·Systematic problem solving approach

·University Degree in Business Management or other, preferably also a postgraduate Business Degree – or equivalent through experience.
