The DHL Innovation Center is the industry’s leading platform to engage with customers and partners on the future of logistics and supply chains. Across the three Innovation Centers in Cologne, Singapore, and Chicago, DHL welcomes almost 15,000 logistics professionals each year to experience key innovations and take part in innovation workshops and industry events. The ideas that are generated at the Innovation Center are then developed further for testing and piloting with the ultimate aim of accelerating the transformation of the logistics industry.

As an Innovation Manager at the DHL Americas Innovation Center based in Chicago, you will be working with DHL operations, customers, startups, and other partners to identify and pilot new solutions across the Americas region. This role will strongly focus on growing our analytics agenda with customers, and therefore we are looking for a candidate with hands-on experience managing analytics projects or working with analytics teams. With many of our analytics projects happening in Latin America, Spanish and/or Portuguese language skills would be a significant advantage.

Your tasks

  • Your main objectives are to initiate and drive innovation projects that accelerate DHL’s digitalization agenda and strengthens our relationships with key customers and partners.

  • Your main tasks will be to manage a portfolio of innovation projects with a strong focus on analytics applications in supply chain

  • You will apply your expertise to initiate and manage innovation pilots from the initial project scoping to delivery and implementation

  • You will work closely with our Innovation Centers in Germany and Singapore, as well as our corporate centers of excellence at headquarters, on topics like analytics and artificial intelligence

  • You will be able to apply your unique creative skills to thought leadership initiatives including the publication of industry-leading trend reports

  • DHL’s accelerator programs, and show cases at the DHL Innovation Center. This will require working in close coordination with our global innovation teams in Germany and Singapore.

  • As part of the global Innovation Center team, you will also be required to actively engage with DHL’s key customers through events at the Innovation Centers and at regional conferences.

Your profile

  • Inspired, open-minded and outgoing in character with a passion for innovation and new technologies

  • BSc/BA in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Management or a related field; Advanced degree a plus

  • At least 4+ years of proven experience in analytics, data analysis, and reporting; industry experience is a plus

  • Knowledge of Excel, R and SQL; familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g. Tableau, SAS)

  • Strong project management skills

  • Superb communication and presentation skills

  • Attention to detail

  • Problem-solving aptitude

  • Spanish language skills would be a significant advantage.

  • Experience working in Latin America would be a significant advantage

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to communicate a complex idea in a simple way and encourage people to adopt ideas

  • Ability to assess business cases and business processes with a talent for identifying innovation opportunities

  • Self-motivated and ability to work independently in an analytical and structured manner

  • International mindset; willing to travel
