ABOUT THE ROLE:
AI & Data Applications Center of Excellence is a new, rapidly growing department, rising to tackle this data challenge. We’re an all-in data team, spanning from Data Engineering to Data Science. Our key purpose is to manage the petabytes of data we have and turn them into value.
Currently, we’re looking for a Big Data Architect. This is a senior role, which will drive our Big Data landscape to the next level. Apply and be part of one of the most impactful teams in DHL.

YOUR WORK:
  •  Design and develop solutions to integrate various data sources across DHL business
  •  Propose alternative concepts and communicate their advantages and disadvantages
  •  Assess feasibility of use cases
  •  Contribute to roadmaps of Big Data architectures
  •  Provide mentorship and feedback to more junior team members
  •  Work in agile mode
  •  Be part of a highly international team around the globe

YOU SHOULD HAVE:
  •  Master degree in computer science or related field
  •  3+ years of experience in the role of Big Data Architect or related
  •  3+ years of experience in Hadoop technologies: Hive, Spark, Kafka, HBase, HDFS
  •  Experience with development in Java, Python, or both
  •  Knowledge of Docker, OpenShift, Kubernetes; interconnection of the these technologies to Hadoop/MapR is a plus
  •  Knowledge of modeling languages and tools (UML, MS Visio)
  •  Experience with Jira and Confluence
  •  Experience working on projects with multiple developers
  •  Knowledge of git,/ git worflow
  •  Technology agnostic mindset with a proven experience to identify and learn new systems, languages and frameworks

NICE TO HAVE:
  •  PhD in computer science or related field
  •  Experience with programming in Scala
  •  Knowledge of visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI)
  •  Experience in creating CI/CD pipelines
  •  Knowledge of Machine Learning principles and tools
  •  Knowledge of AutoML tools (e.g. Data Robot)
  •  Certification in agile (PMI-ACP, Scrum Alliance)
  •  Experience with Azure and AWS environments
  •  Experience with Ansible scripts
