Senior Capacity Specialist
As a Capacity Specialist, you are responsible for analyzing the current capacity and performance of the infrastructure in both global datacenters, recommending and facilitating the implementation of changes to the infrastructure to ensure optimal use of the resources from a cost and performance perspective.
WHAT YOU WILL DO:
Provide cost-effective use of hardware, minimizing ITS costs whilst providing the required level of performance to match the business requirements
Understanding the technical complexities of diverse environments
Responding to changing priorities and workloads
Maintain Capacity related data and provide information upon request for Capacity Analyses
Responsible for the accuracy of the capacity forecast
Monitor the assigned system performance and component throughput
Implement initiatives to adjust system components capacity based on system components demand forecast/capacity plan
To work autonomously on a given assignment; if needed participate in other Capacity Management task
To gather capacity data from all departments within Production Services and to perform statistical analysis to identify the underlying trends and to gain insights into factors affecting the capacity requirement.
To monitor the performance of IT services from a capacity planning perspective.
To resolve all system performance issues due to capacity.
To produce Capacity Plan that meets the service quality defined in SLA with business.

WHAT YOU SHOULD HAVE:
Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience
3–5 years working experience in relevant area
In-depth knowledge of technologies and trends within the IT industry (Windows, Linux, Unix, etc.)
In-depth knowledge of various operating systems, RDBMS concepts, understanding of Oracle, Informix & MS SQL database technologies
Good understanding of Middleware products like Weblogic & Websphere MQ
Understanding of IS operations processes (ITIL)
Good knowledge of critical DHL applications
Pragmatic and efficient with problem management skills
Ability to work in a multi-functional and multi-cultural environment where consensus is critical for success
Able to work well in a team and at the same time must be a self-starter and be able to work under minimum supervision
Creative problem-solving skills and ability to work conceptually
Customer-centric and end-users focused
Must be able to communicate effectively in English for both written and oral
