To manage the commercial operation of the
compliance and customs consulting departments as to provide an efficient,
comprehensive and cost effective customs management service to clients.Consistently achieve and exceed objectives
through the development of people and processes.
Duties & Responsibilities:
·Plan the commercial tactics
of compliance and customs consulting.
·Assist the National Customs
and Compliance Manager with developing, implementing, managing and promoting
customs consulting and compliance programs.
·Prepare action plans and
·Establish and maintain
working relationships with customers and customs authorities.
·Keep informed of trends and
development in the industry, of customers and competitor activity.
·Recruit, train, develop and

standards relating to commercial, operational and accounting considerations are
known and applied within the department.
·Regularly review progress against
budget and take remedial action where necessary.
·Ensure that DHL Canada is in
compliance with the Canadian Customs regulations and assist with ensuring all
locations are exercising reasonable care and responsible supervision in the
transaction of Canadian Customs business.
·Develop along with the
Canadian Managers basic standardized work practices, which can be implemented

through ensuring that our customers are compliant.
·Provide clients with
advice/guidance with regards to all Customs regulations.
·Collaborate to the
preparation of periodic newsletters, alerts, and other information sent to our
·Assist in the development of
standard operating procedures specific to individual accounts (such SOPs are
expected to compliment, not replace, nationally standard work practices).
·Participate in intensive
periodic training seminars conducted by both internal and external resources on
Customs (and related) matters.
·Keep informed of trends and
development in the industry, and of customer and competitor activity.
·Inform and support
management on the changes and development in the Trade Industry.

& origin determinations, free trade qualification, compliance manuals,
consulting advice, guidance & training
Qualifications and Skills:
Thorough rating knowledge of
Customs Tariff Classifications
Thorough knowledge of all
Customs regulations including the Customs Tariff, the Customs Act, the Excise
Tax Act and the Special Import Measures Act
Ability to coordinate several
Ability to forecast business
Ability to train employees
Ability to create positive
