Global Sourcing Manager (m/f/d) Europe based

Our Agile Procurement team is currently looking for a new team member in Europe. In procurement, we support all Business Units and deliver value through and beyond savings. Would you like to join us? Are you a Procurement professional, influencing partners and a capable leader?

Your main tasks will be:

Establish and lead a Global Lead Logistics Provider (“LLP”) function within Corporate Procurement Interface to the Business Units LLP function, aligning sourcing strategies and liaising with customers.Dotted line leading regional sourcing managers. Lead strategic supplier negotiations of major contracts at global / regional level.

  • Lead a virtual global team
  • Provide professional sourcing support for key business initiatives, supply market research / intelligence to support business decisions in investments and budgets and establishment of global or regional frame contracts
  • Identification of strategic sourcing opportunities, development and management of strategic suppliers
  • Achieve great value contribution, benefit realization and efficiency from all procurement activities and ensuring fulfillment of joint goals with internal business partner by meeting their demands in terms of quality, price and service
  • Identify and recommend ´best in class´ suppliers and maintain good relationships with those within the scope
  • Project Management of new LLP assignments, apply standard blueprint to new LLP customers
  • Document and re-align with LLP counterpart future process layout and handover to TP Procurement community, best practice management
  • Coaching of CoE and category management during LLP engagements
  • Cooperate with in contracting sourcing services to new customers
  • Define minimum standards to ensure required compliance regulations are adhered to, including respective governance and risk management implications
  • LLP monitoring & transparency
  • Manage overview of active LLP engagements and understand respective GBS Procurement exposure (risks, challenges, workload)
  • Understand business values of all LLP engagements with customers (gain share, management fee, consultancy fee …) and respective MSA commitments
  • Monitor balance of workload vs. reward (e.g. SLA compensation and business value to DPDHL)
  • Support SLA discussions through transparency of engagement (workload, phasing, pipeline, deviations from service levels)
  • Enrich large-scale (´Focus Plus´) projects with consultative problem-solving in project management
  • Define project resources, conduct performance reviews and post implementation evaluations

Your profile should look like:

  • Experience and understanding of transportation business (Road, Air and Ocean) within and outside of DPDHL
  • Experience and understanding of working in an LLP environment
  • Procurement background with specialization in Transport and Logistics services
  • Ability to manage complex projects under time pressure
  • Passionate to work in very agile environments and ability to adjust to changing environments
  • High degree of customer orientation
  • Ability to motivate teams in very dynamic situations, focusing on finding best possible solutions to drive projects successfully
  • Passionately driving own ideas and convincing people
  • Ability to facilitate the potential tensions of customer/sales driven mindset and service delivery organization setup.
