The Business Development Manager will be responsible for generating revenue through assessing new opportunities, account management; while monitoring and analyzing sales activities.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Customer Sales Management

•Lead and manage customer presentations, proposals, service expectations and solutions

•Build a strong client relationship to ensure that the account performs and grows to its maximum potential

•Ensure a consultative selling of company products/services takes place, becoming customers' and prospects trusted advisor.

•Be comfortable with speaking to C level managers

•Prospect and close new opportunities with existing and new trade lanes.  

•Be familiar with prospecting via social media channels, comfortable with Initial first contact (cold calling) and using channels such as LinkedIn to connect with appropriate levels of personnel.

•Continually develop knowledge of company products/services and general commercial awareness in order to provide the best possible solutions to the customers.

•Maintain a healthy pipeline in and review with Manager on regular basis.

Stakeholder Management

•Provide support to and works cooperatively with other members of the Sales Team to establish and implement short- and long-range goals.

•Act as the customers' global mail resource point of contact, by liaising closely with the relevant departments within DHL Global Mail to ensure all queries, problems or issues are dealt with appropriately.

•Work together very closely with relevant members in DHL Network in order to assist in securing country, regional and/or global Contracts from targeted customers locally.

•Ensure that all customer issues relating to customer service, service recovery and credit control are properly coordinated and managed through the relevant functions in Country Office

•Develop a working relationship with the relevant support departments in Country Office to ensure they are kept up to date with all issues relating to customers, quality services and customer satisfaction.

Sales Deployment

•Formulate a personal sales plan that incorporates initiatives for identifying and gaining new business prospects and maximises growth within the existing customer base.

•Follow up on new leads and referrals.

•Identify and resolve client concerns.

Desired Skills / Qualifications

•5 years' experience in sales

•Experience of major account handling (preferable)

•Experience in Service Industry

•Computer software literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint)

•High caliber in sales

•Highly Motivated

•Excellent Drive and Resilience

•Extended Network Knowledge

•Presentation skills

•Communication skills, spoken and written

•Strong negotiation skills

Minimum Educational Qualification

Diploma/Degree in relevant fields
