In our Compliance and Export Control Office, we bundle all the core export control competencies relating to customs and trade affairs. We determine the overall conditions related to customs and export controls and support the business units acting legally secure by providing information and services."

At the moment we are looking for a new colleague who will Establish & deploy standards and guidelines, monitor adherence and set-up required processes to ensure full compliance for DGF in the area of Export Control.

Your tasks will be:

  • Establishes internal guideline, instructions & training in the area of Export Control (Denied Party Regulations & Embargo / Sanction Rules) and regularly monitors adherence to it

  • Drives required Export Control Organization (global/regional/country level) and works out resource estimations

  • Defines & deploys Denied Party Screening in IT-systems for all involved Business Partners

  • Works with third party content and IT providers to ensure efficient but 100% compliant approach via IT system set-up and algorithms

  • Defines requirements and processes for DGF’s adherence with embargo /sanction rules as well as goods’ related restrictions and sets-up process to ensure information are up-to-date and maintained

    Takes care of and/or supports Global Compliance team in export control related compliance activities such as investigations, communication

  • Consults and supports DGF and corporate colleagues  in customer negotiations with regard to internal standards for Export Control in DGF

  • Develops standard responses for Export Control questions and builds-up export control library for global / regional bid teams

  • Partners with legal to ensure consistent Export Control wording in third party service provider and customer contracts

    Supports negotiations with customers on the wording of customer indemnity letters and liaises with GBS Legal to find solutions

  • Aligns with all stakeholders (e.g. AFR/OFR, HR, Procurement, Legal, Compliance team) to define processes and procedures to ensure full compliance with Export Control Regulations and internal  Export Control policies and guidelines

  • Sets-up necessary processes to screen all relevant business partners, verify denied party screening matches, escalate and assure proper and timely reaction

  • Installs approval process for goods destined to embargoed /sanctioned countries (including use of customer indemnity letters and proper reaction)

  • Assures control steps for shipments of strategic trade controlled goods are understood and implemented

  • Provide necessary advise, training and guidance in the area of Export Control

  • Serves as key contact / escalation point for global DGF colleagues as well as corporate & divisional export control teams

  • Partners with global DGF, corporate & divisional teams to ensure adherence to internal and external standards and guidelines

  • Acts as a subject matter expert in the Global Customs Committee and Practice Groups

Your profile should look like:

  • 1-3 years of legal, regulatory compliance, or related experience required

  • Previous Project Management and IT-system experience required

  • Experience with Denied Party Screening solutions including solution implementation preferred

  • Knowledge of Export Control regulations including Denied Party regulations and embargo /sanction rules as well as dual-use regulations

  • In-depth know-how of denied party screening solutions, IT set-up and implementation of verification & escalation processes

  • Knowledge of due diligence processes for embargo / sanction countries

  • Considerable knowledge of contractual terms and condition with regard to export control

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

  • Fluent English language skills

  • Mandarin language – Proficiency level is a must

  • Ability to think strategically at a global level

  • Self-starter

  • Ability to manage cross-functionally and across a global organization

  • Strong project and time management skills, including ability to direct multiple projects simultaneously

  • Strong negotiation skills

  • Ability to enforce required steps against rejections with good leadership skills
