DHL Express is hiring a Business Analyst to join its Heredia, Costa Rica team.In this role, you will provide support to projects and / or business analysis services to specific groups of countries, applications and/or Project Managers. The focus of this position is to work closely with the relevant parties to gain in-depth understanding of processes, services, applications, roadmap and the context in which the business operates. This role will be key to understanding and documenting capabilities needed to address business challenges and/or continuous improvement and automation.

The Business Analyst is responsible for reviewing assigned business processes from end-to-end to identify and address operational, financial and technological risks. Identify opportunities to improve efficiency. Responsibilities will include assisting countries and projects to guarantee service and project success.

Main Accountabilities

  • Support administration of project management plans and processes for successful execution of projects
  • Prepare estimates of costs, resource requirements and time required to complete projects
  • Design, communicate and implement an operational plan for completing a project
  • Maintain project expenditure in line with defined project budget
  • Track project milestones, report progress and performance against the project plan
  • Assist in project related coordination activities such as developing schedules, budgets and forecasts
  • Resolve operational problems and minimize delays in the delivery of projects
  • Deliver administrative tasks such as arranging meetings, developing agendas, and preparing progress report
  • Support implementation of project results to create targeted impact
  • Apply understanding of business processes to administer project processes and solutions
  • May provide functional advice or training to less experience positions
  • use data modelling practices to analyse your findings and create suggestions for operational improvements and changes
  • Determine operational objectives by studying business functions; gathering information; evaluating output requirements and formats
  • Construct workflow charts and diagrams; studying system capabilities; writing specifications
  • Improve systems by studying current practices; designing modifications
  • Recommend controls by identifying problems; writing improved procedures
  • Prepare technical reports by collecting, analyzing and summarizing information and trends
  • Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed
  • Understand and communicate the financial and operational impact of any changes
  • Suggest changes to senior management using analytics to support your recommendations. Actively participate in the implementation of approved changes
  • Create informative, actionable and repeatable reporting that highlights relevant business trends and opportunities for improvement
  • Conduct insightful, ad hoc analyses to investigate ongoing or one-time operational issues. 


  • Support and interact primarily with senior colleagues of own career function and with overall project organization
  • Explain facts, practices, policies, etc. to others within the organization adhering to project standards, defined procedures, standards and guidelines (where applicable)
  • Address task-related issues appropriately to maintain work relationships and able to effectively communicate with 3rd parties
  • Build relationships and understand customer and key stakeholders interests and concerns

  • Analysis
  • Microsoft Access and/or SQL experience
  • Knowledge and / or certification in Agile Business Analytics is a plus
  • Knowledge of data analystics tools and techniques is a plus

Education & Experience:

  • University degree or equivalent work experience 
  • 2 – 5 years DHL experience, affinity with the FA and / or OTC E2E process is beneficial
  • Experienced in Project Management tasks is a benefit
