The Senior Capacity Manager is a key Team player  responsible for establishing the global direction and strategy for ALL of  DPDHL’s in area of Capacity Management and planning- across all Business Units. Responsible to work with DHL’s strategic Production Services Teams, looks to identify the technical solutions that will maintain and improve customer satisfaction whilst generating long-term value for IT Services and Business Partners – customer facing function

  • Acting as the “global subject matter expert” for Capacity Management relative to Technical Standards, Architecture and Roadmaps
  • Providing critical knowledge and understanding of technical requirements / tools necessary to implement, upgrade and deliver overall direction in support of the global strategy for DP DHL’s IT Infrastructure Products and Services across all Business Units.  
  • Customer facing role as working with business partners to identify and anticipate the impact of future changes and demands to the business systems and processes within a range of Business Groups, and maintain a model that would translate its impact to the IT Systems and associated infrastructure supporting the Business process
  • To serve as primary consultant on highly significant matters relating to policies, programs, capabilities, and long-term goals and objectives of Capacity Management
  • To manage delivery of PdS initiatives (in cooperation with other PdS teams and Solution Delivery) and work under consultative direction towards long-term goals and objectives
  • To contribute in large, complex company-wide or interdepartmental projects having strategic business importance by translating high-level direction into specific action plans to remedy issues
  • Continually improve the existing solutions based on deployed software products by identifying gaps and proposing solutions to solve them
  • Works closely with Business IT, Solution Delivery and Service Owners for general or specific product development
  • Early engagement with Solution Delivery and Production Services to anticipate future demands for IT Services. Interpretation of the impact of those demands on the current business systems and processes. 
  • Identification of opportunities for efficiencies and cost savings in the development of new business processes
  • Together with Business Partners, development of  new systems and processes to support future demand
  • Work with Business Partners and peers in Production Services to ensure IT Services readiness for changes to long-term demand
  • Provide accurate decisions and recommendations resulting in achievement of critical goals
  • Regular performance review meetings with Internal and External colleagues and stakeholders
  • Translate high-level direction into specific action plans
  • Manage capacity reviews globally for all Business Divisions
  • Promotes programme/implementation  management methodology  and best practice. Develops collaborative relationships with external and internal colleagues
  • Builds a strong working relationship with the key stakeholders and managers in the IT Services organization – PdS MT, PdS department heads and department managers.
  • Promotes the capacity management process and awareness
  • This is a Leadership role with matrix management/coordination role. You will need to engage the team in delivering innovative solutions to complex and strategic problems and contribute to team’s professional development. You are also representing Capacity Management globally
  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 10 years IT experience
  • Minimum 5 years management of cross-functional/matrixed teams
  • Minimum 5 years in supervisory/management in general IT Experience in large sophisticated organization with high volume/high transaction environment
  • Strongly demonstrated leadership in project process and planning activities
  • In depth understanding of international project management standards
  • Results-oriented and driven by goal achievement with a strong focus on excellence and high quality project delivery
  • Professional project management certification - ITIL
  • General Logistics Industry Knowledge - Knowledge of trends, key players, strategies and operational issues in Logistics Industry
  • General IT Knowledge - Broad knowledge of technologies, processes, practices and trends within the IT industry, 
  • Subject Matter Expert - Capacity & Performance Management - ITIL 
  • Subject Matter Expert – Serve as primary consultant relating to policies, programs, capabilities, and long-term goals & objectives of the Capacity Management function
  • KPI Management - Knowledge to define and monitor KPIs and to derive measures for improvement 
  • DHL Specific Knowledge - Knowledge of the structure, purpose and goals of the main parts of DHL, who are the key players in each part (“who is who”) and how they interact
  • IS Operations Management  - Expert understanding of IS operations processes (ITIL)
  • Application systems -The application of automated systems to support specific business functions or processes. Examples: enterprise resource planning, business demand forecasting
  • Proficient in Our Organization’s Products and Services - The products and/or services supplied to customers by own organization. Examples: Maintenance of infrastructure, maintenance of applications, system development, software product
  • Customer Orientation - Is focused on identifying and understanding each customer’s needs. Expresses and acts on desire to assist customers in an efficient and friendly manner
