DHL eCommerce Solutions is one of the divisions of DHL, dedicated to both domestic and international parcel delivery, through our cutting-edge cross-border products. We are looking for a Head of IT – Operations and Support Services todrive IT Improvement and strategy throughout the DHLeCS UK in line with business priorities.

  • Keeps informed and shares current knowledge and future perspective of technology and systems.
  • Accounts for functional / operational division results and leads IT-related disciplines which coordinate and control highly strategic activities, initiatives and subjects with significant impact on overall results and/or very high business risk potential
  • Develops the IT strategy in conjunction with peers and in line with the overall business strategy
  • Controls adherence to IT governance mechanisms within divisional and overall DPDHL guidelines
  • Generates commitment, motivation and enthusiasm for the company and division


  • Overall responsibility for IT Infrastructure, operational IT, InfoSec and IT support functions
  • Active member of the IT Management Team; collaborating with peers and senior management to ensure the department is working in line with company goals.
  • Strategic planning and developing road maps – Infrastructure, InfoSec, IT Ops, IT Support.
  • Communicating strategic plans & future vision and motivating the team to deliver.
  • Infomation Security programme – ensuring the development ofeffective policy, process, standards, controls and compliance to relevant legislation
  • Representing IT Manageent during appropriate audits
  • Assisting with legal and contractual negotiations over IT related matters
  • Development of BC and ITDR plans, as well as monitoring, testing and reviewing.


  • Recruits, motivates and develops members of the team
  • Approves key personnel decisions for the function
  • Leads and manages team; determines team structure, roles and performance targets in co-operation with general management
  • Evaluates performance and proposes performance-based compensation for direct reports
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build good working relationships
  • Fluent in both spoken and written English
