DHL eCommerce Solutions is one of the divisions of DHL, dedicated to both domestic and international parcel delivery, through our cutting-edge cross-border products. We are looking for a First Choice Manager to join our UK team, to manage First Choiceprojects and initiatives in DHL eCommerce Solutions UK.

·To create a continuous improvement culture within the business by engaging all staff with First Choice principles, tools and methods.


  • Your main responsibilities would be (but aren’t limited to):
  • Promote continuous improvement through the use of First Choice principles, tools and methods
  • Promote First Choice Way principles and methodology where appropriate
  • Implement specific First Choice tools as deemed necessary at that point in time, such as GEMBA, 5S, 5 why, Performance Dialog
  • Use internal knowledge and various VOC sources, including NPA, to feed into ICCC and XP
  • Establish First Choice initiatives from point 3 as well as various VOB sources
  • Manage the NPA process
  • Coach Initiative Champions and cross functional initiative teams in First Choice principles, tools and methods
  • Manage the measurement, documentation and resolution of the biggest process improvement opportunities using the DMAIC methodology
  • Deliver FC DMAIC training (Initiative Champion Bronze)
  • Deliver activities designed to improve Employee Engagement &/or improve process performance
  • Manage the communication of First Choice activities to the business [both within UK and Globally]
  • The need to embedand communicate a major cultural shift change across the business
  • Deliver improvements to customer satisfaction
  • Rollout a brand new way of doing things involving training and people development
  • Continuous communication of First Choice principles, tools and methods to the business and the benefits they bring
  • Improvement of the Living First Choice EOS score


Business skills:

  • Degree level preferred but not essential.
  • Previous FC, NPA or process improvement experience would be an advantage.
  • Extensive experience within a corporate environment preferably in a business with multi site operations and an extensive customer base in both B2B and B2C markets
  • Evidence of delivering major initiatives, change, training and people/cultural management
  • To be Six Sigma qualified desirable
  • Knowledge of ‘Lean’ (a process management qualification)
  • Using professional process management practices in Lean and Six Sigma, including GEMBA, 5S, NPA, Performance Dialogs, 5 Whys

  • Pronounced self-organized and structured work
  • Very good communication skills, both spoken and written, especially in preparing presentations for top management
  • Assertiveness and professional appearance
  • Resilience and high problem-solving ability
  • Teamwork and flexibility
  • Can work with minimal to no supervision
