Sort Operations Supervisor

Hours:Mon – Thurs; Tues-Fri 19:00-05:30
·Communicate routing, container and bagging updates to EMA Routing and Capacity department in response to network changes.
·Communication and coordination of International trucking changes with Network planning Europe.
·Work in conjunction with EMA Sort management and SCC to ensure maximum uplift & connectivity of material.
·Monitoring volumes, arranging and coordinating the implementation of additional uplift capacity where required.
·Preparing and completing necessary transport documents for all departures ensuring accurate load messages are completed.
·Managing Data quality and accuracy on both NMIV and AHS.
·Ensure 100% planned connectivity of UK & IE DDI Export material through the European road network.
·Analysing volume flows, shipment routings, country operations effectiveness and Hub & Gateway effectiveness.
·Monitor for complete and accurate containerisation of all vehicles for maximum DF compliance.
·Issue effective instructions on container and bagging split requirements via the Network planning team.
·Pro-active follow up and reporting on compliance to instructions on a weekly basis.
·Measure the effectiveness of material connectivity by analysing adherence to split guidelines and routings in conjunction with the Service Quality Department.
·Provide support to Service Quality on road network splits and routings.
·Assist in contingency operations planning and implementation in response to abnormal events (e.g. strikes, weather etc.) affecting standard network operations.
·Analyse areas of capacity shortage and report on options for relief or develop capacity agreements.
·Create and provide workplaces with correct AHS/HUB parameters for adhoc DDI vehicles as and when required.
·Liaise with the Network Planning Europe operation with regards to operator performance issues and scheduling
·Assist Road Operations Manager where required.
•Nightly reports for Sort Senior Supervisor.
•Provide daily briefings to staff.

•Working to the highest standards of Health and Safety procedures
•2 years DHL experience desirable
•Sound knowledge of Sort operations within DHL.
•Man Management skills
•Excellent Communication skills
•Prioritise workload of self and others
·Ability to provide clear direction & enforce quality standards or deadlines to deliver high performance.
·Knowledge of types of aircraft and ULD capacities.
·Working effectively within a team or outside the formal line of authority to accomplish objectives. Demonstrating understanding of how own role fits within DHL as a whole.
·For the Ramp a Full Driving Licence is required
As a 21st Century Manager you will be expected to adapt to and lead change within the department. The minimum expectations are subject to review. Self-development is critical in this role. Supervisors will be expected to complete the CIM Supervisory Programme and any other workshops as required.
