DPDHL Corporate Procurement is currently looking for an experienced executive to develop & drive global category specific procurement strategies in the areas of Packaging & Print.
In Procurement, we are transforming the way we work and the way DPDHL is buying new products and services. For that, we leverage modern digital tools and technologies, but we also need excellent talent to work closely with our business colleagues and drive extra value for them.
In this new role, you will lead the department „Packaging & Print“ (PAPR) in SSC Procurement that focuses on strategic sourcing with the target of realizing biggest possible value contribution for the Group by applying best-in-class sourcing processes. You will have solid line responsibility for approx. 10 direct reports plus dotted line responsibility for coordinating the team outside of Germany. Furthermore, you will manage all interactions with our strategic suppliers
Location: flexible in EMEA
Your main tasks will be:
•Develop sourcing strategies, independently execute sourcing projects, lead/participate in global sourcing projects also with using e-sourcing tools
•Develop concepts for and implement Cost Engineering initiatives
•Lead and develop team by providing formal and informal feedback, taking care of the talent pipeline, execute sustainable resource planning in alignment with business developments
•Develop extensive knowledge about the respective sourcing markets
•Closely cooperate with internal business partners, determine current and future demand based on amount, technical specifications, range of service and quality – provide intense consulting service for business partners
•Analyze company and market data, develop extensive offer analyses, develop negotiation strategies
•Take a leading role for Procurement in project teams and collaborate in the area of GoGreen for development of sustainable and reusable packaging
•Independently realize savings, especially identify potentials with regards to new technologies/solutions and digitalization (Industry 4.0)
•Take care of correspondence and negotiations primarily in English language
•Prepare and agree on contracts, considering internal requirements, environmental protection and legal aspects; document sourcing success (Business Value)
•Implement and manage contracts
•Prepare and execute challenging supplier negotiations
•Identify and implement valuable innovations together with suppliers
Stakeholders
•Understand internal business partners’ and key stakeholders’ interests and concerns and advise direct reports, internal business partner and key stakeholders
•Build strong, trusting relationships with DPDHL managers
•Cooperate with and coordinate 3rd parties e.g. external service providers
•New supplier types (e.g. Startups)
•Innovation partnership programs (external and internal)
•Extensive contact with other specialist departments
Qualifications and Key Requirements:
1. Functional skills:
•University degree/university of applied sciences degree and multiple years of experience in Procurement or business administration, preferably in packaging or print industry or packaging wholesalers
•Theoretical and practical knowledge in Cleansheets/Should Costing/Cost to Value methods
•Leadership experience
•Experience in project management
•Very strong negotiation skills in German and international environment
•Very good command of written and spoken English and German
•Very good knowledge about current Office Software (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
•Very good analytical skills
