As Head of Digital People Content based in our Global Head Office in Bonn, you will be responsible for the creation, implementation and management of Digital Content of all types for DHL Express employees. You collaborate closely with Internal Communications, global and regional HR functions and external agencies to deliver engaging content.

Your scope focuses but is not limited to Smartr which is DHL Express’ employee experience platform connecting employees to local and global colleagues, content, services and functionalities. With your personal drive, you set the pace for cutting-edge content innovations and continuously enhance the Digital Content strategy!


  • Develop, implement and continuously enhance a Digital People content strategy covering global, regional and country content on appropriate channels from classic content management platforms, Office 365 to internal social media channels
  • Provide leadership, guidance and advice to regional and local HR functions, content experts community on all related content topics
  • Source and manage agencies for the development of global content and support material for regional and local content
  • Implement and drive the use of internal social media tools like Social Walls, Communities etc. incl. the required change management and training for proper usage of social media tools for senior management teams
  • Report on content usage and derive actions for usage A and improvements
  • Work closely with the Digital People Experience Platform team for the implementation of platform features required for the content strategy
  • Initiate and lead content projects incl. scope, resourcing, budget and project management
  • Set-up and work closely with a group of regional content experts/ managers
  • Identify and drive innovations in Digital People content

  • University degree in a business or role orientated discipline
  • A digital and communications professional with minimum:
    • 5 years' experience as project manager or project work stream management roles for content projects in an international environment (preferably in a service or frontline focused industry)
    • 3 years’ experience in digital content topics focused on employees incl. hands on experience in content creation
  • A portfolio of successfully implemented internal social media channels and initiated content projects incl. budget and resource acquisition
  • Experience in the area of agency selection/ procurement incl. deliverable description and definition of commercial and general contracting terms
  • Organizational transformation experience incl. governance processes as well as successful change management incl. training experience
  • Knowledge in the area of data analysis and strong affinity to numbers and working with them
  • Deep understanding of digital content relevant web technologies, in particular: Browser technologies (html, css, etc.), end-user devices, end-user experience design, app design, responsive/ mobile page design, network architecture and technologies
  • Distinct communicator with the ability to present and argue in a very structured and factual manner at all level of the organization incl. senior management level
  • Knowledge in the area of data analysis and strong affinity to numbers and working with them
  • Strong communication/ interpersonal/ consulting skills; ability to present and argue in a very structured and factual manner at all level of the organization incl. senior management level
  • Very strong analytic, quick and creative thinking with the ability to learn quickly
  • Very strong personal drive and with a flexible mind-set and appreciation of constant change
  • Able to coordinate and work with virtual teams of experts and managers from diverse countries as well as suppliers /agencies
  • Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English; German fluency an advantage
