Based in Bonn, this is an exciting opportunity to join the team providing finance support to the senior executives of DSC’s global functions. DSC spends almost €1bn annually on global functions such as IT, HR, Finance, and Operation Excellence. As a Global Functions Controller you will be responsible for supporting the global functional leads to better understand and manage their businesses. Working closely with executive teams, the successful candidate must be able to build a reputation for solid financial support and guidance on all areas of a stakeholders business.

As the Global functions Controller you will be responsible for developing an understanding of each function’s business model and support with project costings and execution of strategic initiatives across the division. In conjunction, you will prepare, organise and lead financial reviews with functional senior team members.
Further duties will be to define and maintain global reporting standards in order to support comparability and cost transparency across regions. You will also support the functional stakeholders with data-driven insights to benchmark efficiency and effectiveness across regions and drive continuous improvement.
The key responsibilities in this role include;
·Provide finance business partner support to DSC’s Global functional leads (and their teams) for all controlling activities, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting and analysis of risks and opportunities.
·Financial ownership of Global Central Entity (GCE) functional spend and performance management for Centers of Excellence.
·Facilitate accurate and timely recharging of global Center of Excellence costs to regions & countries, and active engagement in annual price setting.
·Support in preparation of business cases for global projects, then maintain accurate financial reporting of performance against BCA and present to senior management, explaining variances, identification of risks and options to mitigate.
·Support with financial accounting processes and internal controls for the GCE.
·Proactively identify opportunities to improve efficiency and increase value to the business.

·Ability to communicate effectively and build trust with executive stakeholders.
·Ability to analyze complex issues to allow full understanding and resolution. At the same time also ability to translate these into clear core messages of reduced complexity.
·Ability to contribute practical and creative solutions as part of a team. Continuous improvement mindset.
·A degree or equivalent in a related discipline and typically 5 years of experience in controlling and/or accounting.
·Experience of Supply Chain business is an advantage.
·Good working knowledge of financial and other systems including SAP, Oracle, CREST and Microsoft tools – Power BI is an advantage.
·Fluent in spoken and written English – other languages are an advantage.
·Ability to develop effective working relationships in a multi-cultural environment
