Role Purpose

  • This role is meant to support Finished Vehicle Logistics Europe department in regards to:
  • Assisting the Finished Vehicle Logistic Ops Manager to deliver all vehicles within customer predefined time scope under consideration of quality and cost targets.
  • Setting targets to OPS team members that are in line with customer targets and hold regular performance sessions to asses / steer performance
  • Continuously steering the VOPS team to improve and re-asses all services
  • Monitoring the logistic activities of the European production to dealers, compounds and ports
  • Review and assess performance analysis in order to monitor the delivery of contracted freight forwarders
  • Compilation of statistics / indicators (performance reports), including an assessment of the supply chain
  • Maintenance of the systems used (master data maintenance)
  • Acting as an Finished Vehicle Logistic facilitator and representing the business in Townhallmeetings and vs. visitors & suppliers
  • Be the first contact person for HR and Workers councilrelated issues in Valencia and escalate in early stage to the Ops manager or Hof Finished Vehicle Logistic
  • Represent the Finished Vehicle Logistic strategy in alignment with the Ops Manager and the Hof Finished Vehicle Logistic
  • Coordinate all relevant CM issues for the markets under the responsibility of the Valencian Team
  • Support TLCM saving initiatives in a proactive and strategic way of thinking in alignment with the Ops Manager and the Value Creation Manager

Key Accountabilities

  • Fully embrace DPDHL First Choice management principles within remit.
  • The Finished Vehicle Logistic Lead Coordinator supports the OPS Manager in coordinating tasks within the team in order to deliver all vehicles within pre-defined lead times.
  • Furthermore the incumbent support the team in developing smart solutions and reports to create transparency to DHL and customer in order to be able to proactively identify potential supply chain risks.
  • The Lead coordinator acts as subject matter expert within the operational team.
  • The VOPS leader needs to inform / discuss with his line manager pro-actively all relevant operational issues and trends.
  • The Finished Vehicle Logistic OPS Lead Coordinator is responsible to assess the resource needs of the VOPS team.
  • The Finished Vehicle Logistic Lead Coordinator is responsible to update all relevant task logs and to assess availability of necessary resources.
  • Weekly assessment of plant and market forecasts.
  • Creation of action/recovery plans and ad hoc reports.
  • Monitoring of daily stocks and advance planning based on forecast data.
  • Regular performance analysis review in order to monitor the delivery and loyalty of the contract freight forwarders.
  • Handling of stop-ship actions:
  • Analyze the locations for the affected units.
  • Communication of the Stop Shipments to all involved parties within the network.
  • Tracking of rework actions/releases.
  • Immediate release after the rework.
  • Plant-support activities in launch phase:
  • Creation of launch reports.
  • Separate tracking of the launched units vs. marketing targets.
  • Support on outsourcing strategy and data set-up.
  • Initiate tenders for special transports and ad-hoc movements.
  • Monitoring of service providers to ensure contractual requirements compliance.
  • Inventory monitoring of the European Compounds to ensure on-time delivery and fluent operation.
  • Documentation of all special actions and inquiries.
  • Qualified feedback to inquiries (internal and external) in regards to supply chain status of vehicles and volumes.
  • Compilation of statistics / indicators (KPI reports), including an assessment of the supply chain.
  • Maintenance of the systems used (master data maintenance)
  • On-Site support if required.

Requirements for the Job

  • A minimum of 1 year experience in transport & supply chain environment desirable, preferably within the automotive sector.
  • International business experience desirable.
  • Experience with different BU’s is desirable but not essential.
  • Team coordination experience and Team player.
  • Good communication skills; good listener, willingness and ability to communicate and collaborate with customers, colleagues and supervisors.
  • Ability to demonstrate analytical and logical thinking; data manipulation skills are essential to this role.
  • Willingness to take responsibility.
  • Able to cope with criticism.
  • Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and the ability to react quickly and calmly within a demanding environment.
  • A high degree of computer literacy, with knowledge of Access, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.
  • University degree or vocational training as a shipping clerk in connection with several years of professional experience-
  • English Fluent.
  • German Fluent.
